It begins with a spark-sometimes an exciting color combination or an image from travels, magazines, Pinterest. Using my I pad, collage ideas together until just the right source emerges. I then sketch loosly the images. Ithen ad some beautiful handmade papers, stencils, spray paints. often the paints are flourecent or very bright so that glazing over them with oil paints makes the painting glow and have depth. I used to chase realism, but now I chase joy. At 77, perfection is out and play is in. I can’t wait to get into my studio in the morning.
